Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency that was created by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2009 in response to the financial crisis of 2008. It quickly became popular because of the idea which vehicle but also the growing enthusiasm of the community for trading or crypto project. Its success has inspired many other projects such as Ethereum or Ripple. Bitcoin is now considered the mother currency of the entire crypto ecosystem and its price has a huge impact on the entire market.
Marlin is a new decentralized blockchain cryptocurrency. It's an advanced, open-source project with a codebase that marries Bitcoin Core and the Zcash protocol while utilizing smart contracts to allow for private transactions. Marlin also features zkSNARKs technology which provides privacy through zero-knowledge proofs and enables shielded addresses. The marlin team are working on a roadmap for future development of the crypto which includes increasing anonymity, implementing the Lightning Network, decentralizing mining pools and more!
