Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency that was created by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2009 in response to the financial crisis of 2008. It quickly became popular because of the idea which vehicle but also the growing enthusiasm of the community for trading or crypto project. Its success has inspired many other projects such as Ethereum or Ripple. Bitcoin is now considered the mother currency of the entire crypto ecosystem and its price has a huge impact on the entire market.

Decred

(DCR)

Decred is a cryptocurrency with the decred blockchain. It was created in 2016 by Jake Yocom-Piatt, and while it's still new to the crypto world, its developers are confident that their decentralized governance system will make them stand out among other cryptocurrencies. Decred (DCR) is built on an open-source project which means that anyone can participate in its development by submitting proposals for changes to be made to decred's codebase. These proposals are then voted on by decred stakeholders before being implemented into the main chain of decred. This hybridization of PoW and PoS gives holders of decred coins voting power as well as monetary rewards from transaction fees generated on the network.
